thank you! This song was on my mind today and I could not remember the first verse! Great old song! Who recorded this?

I just have come to know that song through a family we know who plays bluegrass. When I tried to find the words online, like I usually do with their songs, I couldn't find anything. So I asked one of them what the words were, and here is what they gave me:

Gods people over in bondage no one to lead them out,

My cousin says this is a verse and refrain

They used to sing this in my Grnadmother's church years ago
