I don't have the sheet music for The Broken Rose, but do have the lyrics which I am posting. Our church choir will be singing it during our Easter program. We have sung it previously and just love it. We have a cd with Squire Parson singing, but it also has just the music which is what we use.
The Broken Rose
(Words & music by Squire E Parson Jr.)
Words cannot - describe it's beau-ty as upon -the stem it grows.
Match--less in it's glo-ry the ten-der little rose,
When it's pe-tals are bro-ken it's greatest beau-ty shows,
For more swee-ter the fragrance of the bro-ken rose.
The most beau-ty-ful rose-- was bro-ken one day,
Nailed - to a tree - on a hill - far away---
Forsa-ken by his friends - bruised by - his foes,
How sweet is - the fragrance - of Hea-ven's Sweet Rose-----
Then they laid - that broken rose--- in - a borrowed tomb.
But on - the third day --that rose - again did bloom;
Now - to the heights of Hea-ven down to - the deepest Hell,
The fragrance of Heaven's Rose--contin-ual-ly dwells.
The most beau-ty-ful rose--was broken one day,
Nailed - to a tree - on a hill - far away------
Forsa-ken by his friends - bruised by - his foes,
How sweet is - the fragrance - of Hea-ven's Sweet Rose.
Forsa-ken by his friends - bruised by- his foes----------
How sweet is -- the fragrance - of Hea--ven's --Sweet -- Rose----------
