HERE TODAY AND GONE TOMORROW.
Last week I held a tiny baby
I thought how soon he'd be a man.
Today for the last time, mama rocked his cradle
His fevered brow burned her loving hand.
He was here today, and gone tomorrow
That's how life in this world is.
here today and gone tomorrow
But there's a better world than this.
Daddy worked hard to raise a family
Then the time to retire had come.
We gathered round for a celebration
But God called him his work was done.
He was here today, and gone tomorrow
That's how life in this world is.
here today and gone tomorrow
But there's a better world than this.
The birds all sang in my garden
Warm summer time seemed here to stay.
But autumn came and winter followed
My flowers died, the birds flew away.
They were here today, and gone tomorrow
That's how life in this world is.
here today and gone tomorrow
But there's a better world than this.
