Hymn from my childhood - There's water, water of life

I went to a church of England school and remember singing this and enjoying it very much even as a Muslim child! ! It's only when I got older did I realise the significance and inaccuracy of the words I was uttering. Of course I have come to know that as much as I love Jesus. .. God cannot be a MAN. Yes Jesus had a miraculous birth but this doesn't imply that he is the SON of God!! Particularly since the Prophet Adam's birth was even MORE miraculous than that of Jesus' since Adam was created without a MOTHER nor a FATHER! If anyone can claim to be the exclusive SON of God then surely that must be Adam!! But that said we know Adam isn't the son of God nor is jesus (peace be upon both of them! ). They are in fact both men and messengers of God as the Koran explains.

Does anybody know what this song is called I sang it with my college choir 2 years ago and I can't remember what it was called I remember bits of the lyrics.

Like the raindrops on the water
like the raindrops on the water hiss....

Foaming darkly in the forest. ...

Never never never never never....

That's really all I remember I do believe it was written in the Renaissance time, but I could be mistaken. If anyone knows I would really appreciate it!

This song/Hymn was written for the Church Mission Society in about 1971. It was for a special children's project based on a project in Iran - I think it was based at Isfahan in Iran. I had lost track of this song until quite recently. Thanks for the words. I am going to teach it as part of a children's sermon tomorrow.

I sing this hymn at school if it's ever raining. I love this hymn and I just can't stop singing it! I sung it to my parents once (I'm 9 now) and they were clapping.. Best memory/hymn of my life! :)
