is the first line of what I remember as the second verse of a favorite hymn from my childhood.
The full verse is:
A man may look on glass
On it may stay his eye,
Or if he pleaseth through it pass
And then the Heavens espy.
I understand it is taken from George Herbert's Elixir but I cannot remember the rest of the hymn.
Any help would be greatly appreciated... and you would put me out of my misery.
