I think there are 2 different songs combined here in the last posting of the words to the song. Howard Goodman wrote a song I Don't Regret A Mile, but he only sang the beginning verse and then there was he recited the rest. I know there was also a song titled Many Miles Behind Me, I have written my sister to have her send me the words and who sang it on a album she has.

I've come to far to turn back.

The song is "I don't regret a mile" Not sure who origianally recorded it. I first heard it as a child being sung by the Daughterly Quartet. Their version of the song had a reciation. I've heard others sing it but I like the Daughterly Quartets version best. I wish I could tell you the words to the reciation.
Here are the lyrics as I've heard them sang by other groups.
Hope this helps. Keith.

I DON'T REGRET A MILE,

I DON'T REGRET A MILE, I'VE TRAVELED FOR THE LORD.
I DON'T REGRET THE TIMES, I'VE TRUSTED IN HIS WORD.
I'VE SEEN THE YEARS GO BY, MANY DAYS WITHOUT A SONG.
BUT I DON'T REGRET A MILE, I'VE TRAVELED FOR THE LORD.

I'VE FOUGHT A FAITHFULL FIGHT, AND I HAVE KEPT THE FAITH
SURELY, UP IN HEAVEN, A HOME FOR ME AWAITS.
A PROMISE OF A MANSION, ON STREETS OF PURE GOLD.
KEEPS ME PRESSING ONWARD, NOT MANY MILES TO GO.

MANY MILES BEHIND ME, NOT MANY MILES TO GO.
I WALK THE STRAIGHT AND NARROW, LONG HAS BEEN THE ROAD.
THO SLOWER STEPS I NOW TAKE, I'LL SOON REACH MY GOAL.
MANY MILES BEHIND ME, NOT MANY MILES TO GO.

I've come to far to turn back.

These are the words to "I've Come to Far to Look Back"

1. I've come to far to look back again; there is nothing behind me; all the treasures I used to love have all faded from view. There's a new day ahead for me, all my heartache is over, for I left it at Calvary where my new life began.

CHORUS
I've come to far to look back, my feet have walked thru the valley. I've climbed mountains crossed rivers, dessert places I've known. Now, I'm nearing the home shore, the redeemed are rejoicing; Heaven's angels are singing, I've come to far to look back.

2. Look around there's no happiness; there's no reason for living. Life will give you a broken dream, full of heartaches & tears. Turn around, don't look back again, face the new day before you. Place your heartache in Jesus' hands, He can mend broken dreams.

Don't know who actually sang it...

I've come to far to turn back.

I'm not sure where the song originated, but both the Goodmans and the Hoppers recorded the song recently sing "I've Come Too Far to Look Back."

I don't regret a time I've trusted in his word, I've seen the years go by many days without a song, but I don't regret a mile I've traveled for the Lord.
