This hymn had special significance during my confirmation. The priest had explained that this was inspired from Samuel responding to the Lords call in the night. When we sing the hymn we are submitting our lives in the service of the Lord.

This song is a a very special and beautiful song. It was sung at my wedding 28 years ago. It holds great meaning, I still hum it and was happy to find the lyrics.

it was recorded on 8track some 30 years ago havent found it yet love the song to the Lord remember sining it at a young age on my dads 8 track player

It was my entrance song at my wedding and it was a commitment with God and my husband. I want to know if it was ever recorded.

Yep and that is why it is important to play it at your wedding. I did at mine 20 years ago and it still stands true today.

I can see how this is popular as a wedding song, but if you look at the words carefully, it's really about commiting you life to God. The new life when we become a new creature in Jesus Christ.
