I don't think that ever time people sin it's because they want to. I think rather than "shunning the very appearance of evil" as the bible asks of us, we sometimes think we have the will and strength to overcome a particular temptation, then we get over-powered by it. I do know of personal circumstances where people know that a particular activity is wrong but just go ahead and do it. That's when you can say people sin because they want to.

It was the Florida Boys who did this song. Secondl;y, the first posting with the chorus as "He whose glory makes the heaven shine" is correct. You could not say "He who's glory ...." because who's means "who is". We would be singing He who is glory makes ......

I can understand why you might think it was Gold City that recorded it, but it was The Florida Boys.

drsweets post is the correct way to sing this song as recorded by the original singers. Some of us do sing the "Corrected" version however. If you put the chorus inbetween the verses it makes the song last a little longer. I want to say that Gold city sings it (old song) but not positive, could be another quartet.

I always sing verse one as "...we make mistakes and often FAIL" rather than SLIP because when you slip it is out of control and when we sin or mess up, we are not out of control, we know what we are doing. When you really think about it, you sin because you want to.
