This song was first copyrighted by Albert E Brumley in 1936. Then in 1946 he recopyrighted it renewing some of the words.
It was also copyrighted in 1946 by J. R. Baxter Jr.
There have been 10 other copyrighters of songs with this same title from 1983 till 2009 and the one in 1983 was done by Tanya Goodman and Michael Sykes.
I pray that this information will be of help to someone and God bless!
Here is the lyrics with the renewed verses done by Brumley:
This World Is Not My Home
Verse: 1
This world is not my home, I'm just a passing through,
my treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue,
the angels beckon me from heaven's open door,
and I can't feel at home in this world any more.
Chorus:
Oh Lord, you know I have no friend like you,
if heaven's not my home then Lord what will I do,
the angels beckon me from heaven's open door,
and I can't feel at home in this world any more.
Verse: 2
They're all expecting me and that's one thing I know,
I fixed it up with Jesus forty years ago,
I know he'll take me through tho I'm weak and poor,
and I can't feel at home in this world anymore.
Verse: 3
I have a loving mother over in Glory land,
I don't expect to stop until I shake her hand,
she waiting now for me in heaven's open door,
and I can't feel at home in this world anymore.
Verse: 4
Just over in glory land we'll live eternally,
the saints on every hand are shouting victory,
their songs of sweetest praise drift back from heaven's shore,
and I can't feel at home in this world anymore.
Renewed Verses:
Verse: 2
They're all expecting me and that's one thing I know,
my savior pardoned me and now I onward go,
I know he'll take me through tho I'm weak and poor,
and I can't feel at home in this world anymore.
Verse: 3
I have a loving mother up in Glory land,
I don't expect to stop until I shake her hand,
she waiting now for me in heaven's open door,
and I can't feel at home in this world anymore.
Verse: 4
Just up in glory land we'll live eternally,
the saints on every hand are shouting victory,
their songs of sweetest praise drift back from heaven's shore,
and I can't feel at home in this world anymore.
And this is the lyrics by Baxter:
This World Is Not My Home
Verse: 1
This world is not my home, I'm just a passing through,
my treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue,
the angels beckon me from heaven's open door,

the angels beckon me from heaven's open door,
and I can't feel at home in this world any more.
Verse: 2
My Savior pardoned me from guilt and shame I know,
I'll trust his saving grace while traveling here below,
I know he'll welcome me at heaven's open door,
and I can't feel at home in the world any more.
Verse: 3
I have a precious mother up in Glory land,
I don't expect to stop until I clasp her hand,
for me she waiting now at heaven's open door,
and I can't feel at home in this world anymore.
Verse: 4
The Saints in glory land are shouting victory,
I want to join their band and live eternally,
I hear the sweetest praise from heaven's open door,
and I can't feel at home in this world anymore.
