The Potter
When the Potter gathers up the broken pieces
Of a vessel He wishes to mend
He doesn't put it back together like a puzzle, O No
But on the Potters wheel He molds it again
Lord don't let me see the way I used to be
Remove the scars that follow the pain
Wounds of my shame, bind them up in Your great name
Cast them all in your forgetting sea
Take away all the strife that followed a wasted life
Tried to build on the dust of a foolish dream
Just an empty space of time
Somewhere in the corner of my mind
If all the world should recall, don't let me see
If I should sift among the ashes of the bridges
That I've burned, O Lord, on my way back home to Thee
Don't let me find one single thing among the ruins
That could bring to my mind one memory
Lord don't let me see the way I used to be
Remove the scars that follow the pain
Wounds of my shame, bind them up in Your great name
Cast them all in your forgetting sea
Take away all the strife, that followed a wasted life
Tried to build on the dust of a foolish dream
Down that corridor of time, don't ever let them come to mind
And if all the world should recall, don't let me remember them at all
And if all the world should recall, don't let me see,
Don't let me see
