Patience

Verse I:

I get in a hurry, I try to get ahead.
Then I go off and leave the things I needed instead.
I know I take a lot of your time.
Though I strive to be a leader, I always fall far behind.

Chorus:

Lord teach me to trust and to lean on your will
Should I get in a hurry, please help me stand still.
Patience is a virtue and a weakness of mine.
I struggle with the outcome of time.
Would you build up my faith, teach me to wait.

Verse II:

So many others have done mighty things,
They've gained the highest honors by the power of your name.
Then there are others like me.
Who struggle with patience and get ahead of what could be.
