I learned to read the Bible years ago in Sunday School
I loved to hear about the lion's den,
little David and his sling, how he came to be a king
Mighty Sampson victory over evil men

But the time would come when
I would hear a message on the Cross
from Romans chapter 3 verse 23
that's the night that I was saved
and ever since that happy day
my Bible's made a blessed change in me

I've been in The Book and now The Book is in me
Hidden in my heart to show me all that I should be
It's a light to my path, a guiding lamp unto feet

Word's forever settled ever old and ever new
