I'd like to echo what Nancy said, Carrie. You and Christian are in my prayers as well.

I ask everyone reading this to please take a little time and say this prayer with me (or your own).

In the Name of Jesus we pray.

Lord, Carrie and Christian are hurting today. We know that you are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit. Please wrap your loving arms around them and comfort them. Please bring them the peace that only you can give. Please heal them and bind up their wounds. Please help them endure the pain for this season, and please let the suffering they are enduring make them stronger.

Lord, we ask you especially to put your loving arms around Christian, who's so young and has his whole life ahead of him. We ask you to let him lay his burdens and worries on you, and we ask you to help him experience more and more each day the love you have for him, especially in his suffering.

We also ask you to please strengthen Carrie. She has endured so much. As this hymn reminds us, you hear her every cry and you see her every tear. Though the world collapse around us, you never change. You shed your blood for us not just to give us hope for eternity, but to give us hope for our short time here on earth.

We ask that you protect them from the evil one, who loves to accuse and isolate and torment. In the name of Jesus Christ we cast out the feelings of regret, or guilt, or shame that the enemy brings. Your blood has freed us from these things, and so we nail them to the cross. While the enemy and this evil world that doesn't know you continue to dwell on such things, we focus on your salvation and your never-ending love.

We ask you to fill Carrie and Christian with your Holy Spirit, so that they may come to you and drink and never thirst.

We ask that when Carrie sings this hymn, she feels the totality of your love for her. We know that hymns aren't just songs, but carry spiritual power. Please fill her with power and strength and use this for good. We are confident that you will do exactly that, because she loves you.

In your holy name we pray. Amen.

Tonight I just finished singing this song out loud to me and my 🐱 cat. It’s been decades since I first sang it. It was in 1977-78 at Vail St Baptist Church in Bloomington, Il. I was a student at Illinois State University and I attended Vail Street with my friend and singing partner Gregg Oakley (RIP💗). Whenever we sang this song, I couldn’t get through it without crying … and 40 years later, I still sing that song, especially when 2 family of really hurts. I’m singing it tonight, and in doing so I feel th closeness I had with Jesus so many years ago. If anyone sees this and cares to pray, please pray for me and my adult son Christian. We’ve lost my husband/his dad suddenly and under the tragic of circumstances and my daughter/his sister when she took her own life at age 28, in 2022. We are broken, everything has been taken away, we are trying to build from out of these heartbreaking losses. It’s all so different now, we are not like we were before. My son needs help for PTSD as he took her down from our garage. If anyone reads this and are moved to pray, thank you so much. I love you and God Bless you. Thank you 💗

It goes something like this:
And Jesus said come to the water
stand by my side
I know you are thirsty
You won't be denied
I felt every tear drop
When in darkness you cried

The correct title is
For those tears I die
Artist is
Frisk Luft

This song was written by Marsha Stevens in the early 70's. You used to be able to find it in many church hymnals but that changed after Marsha came out as a lesbian. She is now Marsha Stevens -Pino. I believe that is her married name. I met her in the early 2000 when she did a great concert at the church I was attending. She is a very wonderful and special woman. I wish I new if she was still doing concerts. I would love to see her again. I will always hold this song in a special place in my heart as I first learned this song in Jr. High School. I loved the song then and I treasure it even more now

It goes something like this:
And Jesus said come to the water
stand by my side
I know you are thirsty
You won't be denied
I felt every tear drop
When in darkness you cried
Chorus

And Jesus said
Come to the water
Stand by My side
I know you are thirsty
You won't be denied
I felt ev'ry tear drop
When in darkness you cried
And I strove to remind you
That for those tears I died

Verse 1

You said You'd come
And share all my sorrows
You said You'd be there
For all my tomorrows
I came so close to sending You away
But just like You promised
You came there to stay
I just had to pray

Verse 2

Your goodness so great
I can't understand
And dear Lord I know
That all this was planned
I know You're here now
And always will be
Your love loosed my chains
And in You I'm free
But Jesus why me

Verse 3

Jesus, I give You
My heart and my soul
I know that without God
I'd never be whole
Savior, You opened
All the right doors
And I thank You and praise You
From earth's humble shores
Take me I'm Yours
