On a cross He was dying. His blood flowed so free
I just can not imagine why the world - they could not see
that the man who was dying was a hope of life to me
Hanging there between earth and Heaven,
His hands and feet nailed to the tree
Chorus
What a friend we have in Jesus
Oh what a price He had to pay
Upon the cross that day at Calvary
His precious blood has washed my sin away
From the cross He was buried; in three days He rose again
There was no grave that could hold Him. This was in God's holy plan
By His grace and resurrection we can all live again
I give praise and all the glory to my Lord. Oh what a friend
On a cross He was dying. His blood flowed so free
I just can not imagine why the world - they could not see
that the man who was dying was a hope of life to me
Hanging there between earth and Heaven,
His hands and feet nailed to the tree
Chorus
