CHORUS: OLE MOSE

I BELONG TO THE KING, I BELONG TO THE KING
WITH JESUS MY SAVIOR I BELONG TO THE KING

NARRATION:

BACK MANY YEARS AGO, IN SLAVERY TIME, THERE WAS A RICH MAN
WHO OWNED AS FAR AS THE EYE COULD SEE. IN FACT HE WAS THE RICHEST MAN ALIVE IN THE COUNTRY. ONE PARTICULAR MORNING
HE WAS OUT RIDING HIS BEAUTIFUL STALLION DOWN ONE OF HIS
MANY FIELDS AND HE HEARD SOMEONE SING:

REPEAR CHORUS:

HE GOT OFF HIS HORSE AND HE WALKED OVER TO THE OLD BLACK
MAN NAMED MOSE AND HE SAID "MOSE, WHY ARE YOU SO HAPPY?"
IT'S ALREADY NINETY IN THE SHADE AND IT'S GETTING HOTTER BY THE MINUTE. YOU SURE DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO SING ABOUT. YOU
LOOK UP AT THE END OF THE FIELD. THAT LITTLE OLD SHACK WAS
BUILT FROM THE TIMBER I CUT OFF MY LAND, AND SAWED IT AT MY
SAWMILL. TO BUILD YOU A HOUSE TO LIVE IN. YOU DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY, YOU'RE A SLAVE, YOU BELONG TO ME. THEN OLD MOSE
GRINNED AND LOOKED UP AT THE SKY, AND HE BEGAN TO SING.

REPEAT CHORUS: FIRST LINE

NOW MY FATHER IS RICH IN HOUSES AND LAND, AND HE HOLDS THE WEALTH OF THE WORLD IN HIS HANDS, ALL THE RUBIES, EVEN DIAMONDS. AND ALL THE SILVER AND THE GOLD, HIS COFFERS ARE FULL, AH; LAWD HAVE MERCY, HE HAS RICHES UNTOLD

REPEAT CHORUS:

THE RICH MAN STRADDLED HIS STALLION AND WENT ON ABOUT HIS
WAY. BUT THAT NIGHT IN A DREAM, THE ANGEL OF THE LORD
APPEARED AND TOLD HIM THAT AT SIX O'CLOCK TOMORROW, THE RICHEST MAN IN THE COUNTRY WAS GONNA DIE

NEXT MORNING, THE RICH MAN, HE ROSE, AND HE STARTED MAKING ARRANGEMENTS FOR HIS OWN FUNERAL, HE CALLED IN ALL HIS RELATIVES AND FRIENDS AND WENT TO TOWN AND HE BOUGHT A
BEAUTIFUL NEW SUIT AND THE MOST EXPENSIVE CASKET MONEY COULD BUY. THAT AFTERNOON, THEY GATHERED AROUND THE RICH MAN'S HOME JUST TO TELL HIM GOODBYE, BUT AT SIX O;CLOCK NOTHING HAPPENED AND EVERYONE THOUGHT IT STRANGE, FOR GOD NEVER LIED. SUDDENLY THERE WAS A KNOCK AT THE DOOR AND A VOICE SCREAMING SAID: MASSAH, MASSAH, OLE MOSE JUST DIED.
"THE RICH MAN COULD HEAR OLE MOSE SINGING:

REPEAT CHORUS:

HOPE THIS HELPS AND A VERY" MERRY CHISTMAS "TO YOU!!!!

Would like the lyrics & recitation for this beautiful Gospel piece. It starts with the words "I'm a child of the King, a child of the King, with Jesus my Lord, I'm a child of the King"
It is about a plantation owner and an old black man that works for him.
