Since my castles were built of sand,
Of course they couldn't stand,
When the tide came in they washed away;
And there in the distance,
Walking against the wind,
Came the builder of the universe,
I gave the pieces to Him
Chorus
He built a new house for me
It's on the same spot
Where the old one used to be;
Now the wind and the tide
And the storms are the same
But my new house still stands
For it's built in His name.

He built it by the sea
Where He first found me,
I had hoped for a place sheltered from the storm;
But it's not a cottage in the meadow
Where the sun always shine,
It's standing where the wind blows
Now it'll take the torture of time
