There are probably some typos or errors if so sorry :/. This song was written by the Geigers (or Giegers?) I heard them sing it at camp and I have been searching for the lyrics for a long time and I just thought I'd share them in case any of you are in need of them. Hope this helps for anyone who needs it!!(:
V1
Saul of Tarsus murdered Christians but met the Lord while on his way. God changed his name from Saul to Paul. With his old friends he could not stay. Old friends, now foes, desired to kill him. They watched the gates both night and day, but Paul was led down in a basket. With disciples' help, he got away.
Chorus
Hold the rope for friend and stranger. Hold the rope for family. You never know who's in your basket or where they'll spend eternity.
V2
I once was lost with no direction. Stumbling around, I could not see, but praise the Lord, I found salvation. Someone held the rope for me. So hold the rope of friend or sinners. Hold the rope so faithfully. Let Christ in you, the hope of glory, shine for all the world to see.
Chorus
Hold the rope for friend and stranger. Hold the rope for family. You never know who's in your basket or where they'll spend eternity.Or where they'll spend eternity.
