The morning broke on calvary's hill much like all the rest
Angel's watched from heavens gates as Jesus reached the crest
to be crucified on a rugged cross as the mob mocked and railed
Though I never touched the hammer my sin drove the nails


It was a bitter gaul they served him as he cried out for a drink
With a spear a solider pierced his side as two suns began to sink
That picture framed with guilt in my memory fits me well
