Hi everyone! My sister and I have been trying to find the lyrics to a song we remember singing at all-school Masses in elementary school. I think it came out of the Spirit and Song book and it was called something like "More Joy In Heaven." Here's what she and I remember:
There once was a father who loved both his sons
But his younger son wanted to roam
He squandered his money and lived like a fool
And sadly he started for home
[more to the verse here but we don't know it]
REFRAIN
He said, “Come share my happiness
Feast at my table
Join me in great jubilation
Do you not know what was lost has been found?
Rejoice in my glad celebration!”
For there is more joy in heaven
There is more joy in heaven
There is more joy in heaven
When the lost one has returned
There once was a shepherd who loved all his sheep [something something something]
…fold
But one little lamb who had wandered away
Was frightened and lonely and cold
With 99 safe in the field the shepherd set out to rescue the stray
And when he returned with the lamb in his arms he invited his neighbors to stay
