What an awesome sound from heaven as the voice of God was heard
Those standing at the Jordon must have been amazed
The Father wanted everyone to know just who was in the water
And who it was being baptized that day

Chorus
This is my son, yes Jesus is my son
The one the prophets said would come
God said I’m pleased. How could they not have known
He was the one in the water with John

John’s voice had spoken many times of the Messiah, Lord of Lords
How they would know that He must surely be the one
When the Holy Ghost descended and a voice came from the throne
It was the Water Himself in the water with John

Chorus

On that day at the Jordon, all the glory of heaven
The Holy Spirit, Father and the Son
It was the greatest baptizing this world has ever known
When the Water of Life was in the water with John

Chorus

God said I’m pleased. How could they not have known
He was the one in the water with John
