My Lord Is Alive

The grave could not hold Him and He came from the tomb
He found His disciples filled with sorrow and gloom
But after He blessed them He was carried on high
The grave could not hold Him my Lord is alive


They took my Lord and they nailed Him to a tree
He shed His blood there for you and for me
They laid Him in a tomb and placed the stone at the door
But the grave could not hold Him now He lives forever more

Oh what a morning when our Lord returns
All of the dead in Christ shall leave their lonely tombs
We that remain down here shall suffer no more
We’ll be caught up together to be with our Lord

The grave could not hold Him and He came from the tomb
He found His disciples and told them what to do
And after He left them He was carried on high
For the grave could not hold Him my Lord is alive

No the grave could not hold Him my Lord is alive
