broadman hymnal - Swing Wide The Gates

by Guest » Thu Jan 26, 2017 10:04 am

Another version of the hymn requested for by Segun Olopade (as gotten from this sight: http://apostolicfaithweca.org/content/he-gave-me-seal ):

He gave to me a seal
Of the great debt I owe
And as He gave, He smiled and said,
''Always, remember Me.`

Verse 2
He gave to me a seal
All of my debts He paid,
And as He gave, He smiled and said,
''Always, remember Me.`

Verse 3
I shall treasure the seal,
Though, the debt is all paid
The seal told of the love of One
Who paid the debt for me

Verse 4
I looked at it and smiled,
Again, I looked and wept
The earnest of His love for me,
I'll ever treasure it

Verse 5
It is more than a seal
It is in remembrance,
That all the debt of sin was paid
By Lord, Emmanuel

"Does anyone know the lyrics of Jesus is coming "

Not sure which version you're seeking. Way back in the early 70's, our youth group sang one, as published in a Word of Life (Schroon Lake, NY--Jack Wyrtzen's ministry) softbound hymnal.

Lyrics, as best I recall, went something like this:

Someday when this life on earth is ended,
Ancient Bible prophecy will surely be fulfilled;
As the Savior left the earth when He ascended,
So He'll come again, the Father has willed!

Cho: Jesus is coming, tho' we know not when
Yes, He is coming! Jesus is coming again!

Hope this helps!

Does anyone know of a hymnal that would have "Swing Wide the Gates?" It's not in the 1940 Broadman.

There is another version/variation of the song "There's a Great Day Coming". Same title different song/lyrics. I was told it is on page 333 in the broadman hymnal. I don't have a broadman hymnal. Does anybody know the lyrics. The only part of the song i remember is "oh can you say you are ready brother, ready for the judgement day".
