There are at least a couple of ideas: one source for the lyrics was the Nazarene Hymnal, the edition used in the mid- to late-1970's. Another was an a cappella version sung on "The Light and Life Hour", probably some time earlier.
The chorus definitely ends with "I want to be like Jesus" and, frankly, I think it's one of the most moving, thought-provoking songs/hymns ever written.
