I can't believe the desert I see ahead
It's waiting for me
I just crossed the canyon, rocky and steep
Waded a river so deep
Oh, the sun hot and burning
Tells me I am learning
I haven't much strength of my own
Though I face this trial, I know all the while
Lord, Your presence to me will be known.
So I will trust You in the trial
Cling to Your grace each step of the mile
The mountains are high, and the valleys are wide
But You're by my side all the while
When I am weak, I'll lean on Your strength
And trust You in the trial
There's danger awaiting, yet I'm anticipating
The end of this hot desert sand
My heart is longing to find that oasis
I'm looking for green pastured land
Some trials last longer to make me stronger
And I believe they're meant to be
Though this trial may linger, I know God's finger
Is tracing a way out for me
So I will trust You in the trial
