Identification with partial lyrics - Sing me an old song, please don’t take very long

Happy new year everyone, I have been searching for this song for a few days and I’ve been unable to locate the actual song with quite a few lyrics. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I’m thinking my husband made this up 😆

He said it was sung by a male in more of a slow, maybe old southern kind of style

“Sing me an old song, please don’t take very long, sing it and I’ll be on my way. Sing about amazing grace and how I’ll see my savors face. These old songs mean so much to me”

Thank you so much!
