This song is called Kickin' Up Dust released by The Martins on their album "Marks of the Trade" (Mark Five Records) in 1991.
Here are the lyrics I can recall:
Moses in the will of God in bondage on a foreign sod
Told ol' Pharaoh "Set God's people free".
Pharaoh finally said "OK", and set the children on their way
Then chased them to the banks of the Red Sea.
See, Pharaoh deep down in his soul thought that he was in control
He hadn't heard that God's in charge of destiny.
Boy was Pharaoh quite surprised when the sea was parted and the earth was dry,
And children ran where water used to be.
Kickin' up dust, headed for the Promised Land.
Kickin' up dust, safe in the Father's hand.
Shouting "Hallelujah", "Praise His holy name", "Amen"
A-MEN
Kickin' up dust, headed for the Promised Land.
The evening air was hot and dry that summer night in mid-July
To the tent revival they came from miles around.
They had sawdust floors and folding chairs, you could feel the excitement in the air,
As the choir began to sing the glory down.
The preacher told how Jesus died, for folks like me He was crucified,
And something stirred within this heart of mine.
So I prayed dear Lord forgive my sin and help me find that peace within
Then I left my chair and headed down the aisle.
Kickin' up dust, headed for the Promised Land.
Kickin' up dust, safe in the Father's hand.
Shouting "Hallelujah", "Praise His holy name", "Amen"
