Several tunes to this hymn on the Internet, but not the one I remember.
It goes: AFDCFABflatBflatGFE
anyone know the name of this tune?
. .. or has it sunk into the mists of time, as is fast happening to me.

Hi BBlod Grogan,
I don't know how to read music so I don't know if
this could possibly be the hymn you are looking for

Thanks Songinmyheart - that's one of three tunes for this hymn I found on the Internet. Odd thing is, I was brought up with two alternative tunes to the hymn (in the UK), but neither of those tunes are to be found on the Internet. How can there be so many different tunes to one rather obscure hymn I ask myself!
Strange ole worl, ain't it?
