Dear Bloggers
My family is searching for the following hymn/poem requested to be played at a funeral on 120521 - it is sung to the tune of Londonderry Air ('Danny Boy'). Baptist and Methodist researchers and various interweb searches (on all/part) have not found the author or a recording:
"If I should fail in all thou hast taught me
If I should err among this world of men
If I should fall to craving and temptation
Please lift me up and make me whole again
And if you feel this soul of mine is worthy
To be redeemed and pardoned for my sins
Please take my hand and give me your salvation
And in your peace my soul shall live again"
We are beginning to think it may have be self penned - any help gratefully received.
Blessings
If I should fail in all thou hast taught me
