"I'm the one"

Post by Guest » Mon May 12, 2008 12:21 am

It starts off like this... "There lays the crown they took from his head, oh the blood is dry on the thorns".... and the chorus says "I'm the one he shed his life's blood to save and I'm the reason the rose from the grave. I'm the reason for those worn out sandals you see. He walked every mile just for me"

I can't find this song anywhere!! I'd love to know the artist, so I can find sheet music to perform it at my church.

I'm the One

There lays the crown that fell from his head, oh the blood is dried on the thorns
And there lie the sandals they took from his feet, oh see how they're dusty and worn.
There stands a mother in tears for she's just lost her son.
He died on the cross for someone he didn't know
And I just realized I'm the one.

Chorus:
I'm the one he shed His life's blood to save
And I'm the reason he rose from the grave.
And I'm the reason for those worn out sandals you see
And He walked every mile, just for you and for me.

When I remember all the times I refused all the love that He offered me,
I just couldn't see how the sinner I was could be changed by His agony.
Oh but now it's so clear, I'm pardoned by God's Holy Son
He died on the cross for someone He didn't know.
And I just realized I'm the one.

Repeat Chorus

I don't know who sang it first, but these are the words to it all in case you need it.

God Bless!

Thank you so much,I saw the Rex Nelons in the church I attended as a small child. This song has stuck in my head for over 20 years and I knew I had heard it at this same church, but couldn't remember who sang it. I have looked everywhere for it. I used to sing it to my children to put them to sleep (they are now teenagers). So again thank you!!!
