Can anyone remember the name and lyrics to: the Lord is my shepherd, but not the original one, this one went something like: The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want, I have everything that I need"¦(cant remember the rest)
(then Chorus): My Lord, Lord (oh my Lord) be my shepherd, let me be your sheep?

Thanks.

this may not be the one you want, but here is something i found

Original Trinity Hymnal, #663
From Psalm 23

The Lord is my Shepherd, no want shall I know;
I feed in green pastures, safe-folded I rest;
He leadeth my soul where the still waters flow,
Restores me when wandering, redeems when oppressed.

Through the valley and shadow of death tho' I stray,
Since thou art my Guardian, no evil I fear;
Thy rod shall defend me, thy staff be my stay;
No harm can befall with my Comforter near.

In the midst of affliction my table is spread;
With blessings unmeasured my cup runneth o'er;
With perfume and oil thou anointest my head;
O what shall I ask of thy providence more?

Let goodness and mercy, my bountiful God,
Still follow my steps till I meet thee above:
I seek by the path which my forefathers trod,
Thro' the land of their sojourn, Thy kingdom of love.

here is something else

Psalm 23
Scottish Psalter 1650
The Lord's my shepherd, I'll not want. He makes me down to lie.
In pastures green, He leadeth me, the quiet waters by
My soul He doth restore again; and me to walk doth make
Within the paths of righteousness, all for His own name's sake.

Yea, though I walk in death's dark vale, yet will I fear no ill,
For You are with me, and Your rod, and staff me comfort still.
My table You prepare for me, in presence of my foes;
My head You do with oil anoint, and my cup overflows.

Goodness and mercy all my life, shall surely follow me.
And in GOD's house for evermore, my dwelling-place shall be.
The Lord's my shepherd, I'll not want. He makes me down to lie.
In pastures green, He leadeth me, the quiet waters by.

here's another

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me down to lie
In pastures green He leadeth me
The quiet waters by.

Refrain

His yoke is easy; His burden is light.
I've found it so; I've found it so.
He leadeth me by day and by night
Where living waters flow.

My soul crieth out: "Restore me again,
And give me the strength to take
The narrow path of righteousness,
E'en for His own Name's sake."

Refrain

Yea, tho' I should walk the valley of death,
Yet why should I fear from ill?
For Thou art with me, and Thy rod
And staff me comfort still.

Refrain

I think I have finally found the one you may want. this is the one we have sung at our church.

Words: Scottish Psalter, 1650.

Music: Crimond, Jessie S. Irvine, 1872 (MIDI, score). Alternate tunes:

Belmont, William Gardiner, 1812 (MIDI, score)
Evan, William H. Havergal, 1847; arranged by Lowell Mason, 1850 (MIDI, score)
Martyrdom, Hugh Wilson, 1800; arranged by Ralph E. Hudson, circa 1885 (MIDI, score)
Orlington, John Campbell (1807-1860) (MIDI, score) (repeats third line of each verse)
Wiltshire, George T. Smart, 1795 (MIDI, score)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Lord's my Shepherd, I'll not want.
He makes me down to lie
In pastures green; He leadeth me
The quiet waters by.

My soul He doth restore again;
And me to walk doth make
Within the paths of righteousness,
Even for His own Name's sake.

Yea, though I walk in death's dark vale,
Yet will I fear no ill;
For Thou art with me; and Thy rod
And staff my comfort still.

My table Thou hast furnishèd
In presence of my foes;
My head Thou dost with oil anoint,
And my cup overflows.

Goodness and mercy all my life
Shall surely follow me;
And in God's house forevermore
My dwelling place shall be.

Can anyone remember the lyrics? My Lord, Lord (oh my Lord) be my shepherd

I have been looking for this too since I used to sing it in primary school, I have never heard it since, if you find it please let me know!

This is something how I remember it but might be very wrong as I am 24 and last time I sung it I was 11!

The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want
I have everything
That I need
Near to pastures green
By the cooling(?) stream
Here he will revive(?)
My (something) spirit(?)

My Lord
Lord (oh my lord)
Be my shepherd
Let me
Be your sheep

It's sang in a minor key, I wish I knew how to get hold of the music and lyrics I can't find them anywhere.

its the most awesome version of the psalm you'll ever here.

the best bit is the harmony on the chorus
if anyone does find it i can remember the first two verses but am desperate to get the end.
