Draw draw yn China a thiroedd Japan
Plant bach melynion sy'n byw;
Dim ond eilunod o'u cylch ym mhobman
Neb i ddweud am Dduw.
Iesu cofia'r plant
Iesu cofia'r plant
Anfon genhadon ymhell dros y byd
Iesu cofia'r plant.

Over there in China and the lands of Japan
Little yellow children live,
Everywhere around them only idols!
No-one speaks of God!
Jesus, remember the children,
Jesus, remember the children,
Send missionaries to them far across the ocean,
Jesus, remember the children.

I remember singing this hymn In infants school in Caerphilly in the 1950s. Lovely to see the words in print but never thought about it not being politically correct!

Welsh childre's Hymn "Draw draw yn China"

I learned this hymn in the Sunday School of Libanus Welsh Calvinistic Methodist Chapel in the Rhondda Valley of South Wales back in the 1940's, where my mother had learned it 20 years previously. Somehow it has always stuck in my head reminding me of a very different time to the one we are living in now

I was also brought up singing this song, I sang it to my daughters and I now sing it to my grandchildren. Why does everything have to be politically correct.

I sing this song to myyoungest grand daughter with a change in the word as her dad is from IRAN, and a convert from Islam to Christianity. It goes like this
Draw draw yn IRAN a thiroedd AFGHANISTAN
Plant bach ISLAMIC sy'n byw;
Dim ond eilunod o'u cylch ym mhobman
Neb i ddweud am Dduw.
Iesu cofia'r plant
Iesu cofia'r plant
Anfon genhadon ymhell dros y byd
Iesu cofia'r plant.

Sheloves it , and when she is tired, it sends her to sleep
