Sweet Jesus
Sweet Jesus
I've been looking for a song I heard on the radio. I would like to know who recorded it. It goes something like . . .
Sweet Jesus, Sweet Jesus.
He's the Lily of the Valley
He's the Bright and morning Star
Sweet Jesus, Sweet Jesus
He's the Rock of my salvation
He's the Hope for every nation
He's the Joy of all creation
Bless His name.
Thanks

Bless His name.

Sweet Jesus
The Lily of the Valley
I have found a friend in Jesus, He's everything to me,
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul;
The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see
All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole.
In sorrow He's my comfort, in trouble He's my stay,
He tells me every care on Him to roll;
He's the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star,
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
He all my griefs has taken, and all my sorrows borne;
In temptation He's my strong and mighty tower;
I have all for Him forsaken, and all my idols torn
From my heart, and now He keeps me by His power.
Though all the world forsake me, and Satan tempt me sore,
Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal;
He's the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star,
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
He will never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here,
While I live by faith and do His blessed will;
A wall of fire about me, I've nothing now to fear,
With His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.
Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessed face,
Where rivers of delight shall ever roll;
He's the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star,
He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

Sweet Jesus
"The Lilly of the Valey" and "Sweet Jesus, He's the Lilly of the Valley" are two completely different songs. "Sweet Jesus, He's the Lilly of the Valley" was written by Bishop G. E. Patterson. It is a great song, however, I do not think G. E. Patterson's version is the best. There was a contemporary Christian band sometime around between 1988 and 1991 that sung it, in my oppinion, much better. I purchased the album in 1991 and sadly gave it away. I do not remember the bands name, but I sure would like to get a copy of it now.
Sweet Jesus
Sweet Jesus, Sweet Jesus, what a wonder you are, you're brighter than the morning sun, you're fairer, much fairer, than the lily that grows by the wayside, precious, more precious than gold.
You're like the rose of Sharon, you're the fairest of the fair, you are all my heart could e're desire.
Sweet Jesus, sweet Jesus, what a wonder you are, you're precious, more precious than gold.
You're like the rose of Sharon, you're the fairest of the fair, you are all my heart could e're desire.
Sweet Jesus, sweet Jesus, what a wonder you are, you're precious, more precious than gold.
Sweet Jesus
There is nothing like those old hymns that we use to sing, so much meaning in the words, Just touches my heart. I use tto sing this song in the 50's as a child growing up. I am glad I found the words to it. Thank you
Sweet Jesus
Wow, I woke up with these two songs on my mind, I will definitely interchange them and sing in praise and worship
Sweet Jesus
Yes, this is a very good song. One of the variants can be found in the Acapella Praise album from Maranatha.
