What platform are you posting your music on?
I would enjoy the experience of hearing you and giving you feedback.
One bit of advice is: don't try to sound like anyone else.
Use your own God given voice to glorify Him

Re: Hello, read this and please respond.
I hope to be posting it on here, because I don't have any records out right now, but I will be recording on the camera when I get free time
Re: Hello, read this and please respond.
Hi Wyatt,
We don't have the bandwidth to host audio and video files here (I'm working on a concept similar to that), but definitely feel free to upload your singing to a site like YouTube or SoundCloud (both free) and share the links here!
This board is for lyric discussion, but some time ago I set up this separate board for topics not related to lyrics. Definitely feel free to post a new thread there and post your links. We'd definitely love to hear!
God bless,
Steve

Hi Wyatt,
Of course you can post the link to TikTok, which I see you've done
Thank you so much for sharing (somehow two threads were created, so I merged them into this one).
First of all, it takes serious guts to put yourself out there like this, and I can tell from your singing that you have passion for the Lord. So few of us live the truth of Psalm 100:1-2, so well done.
Second, I appreciate (and share) your love for Southern Gospel music, and especially with the world in the shape it's in today, we need "a whole lot more of Jesus"
As we more and more of the original artists and their fans graduate to Heaven, it'll be young people like you who carry these traditions forward here on Earth.
Here's some feedback, please take it in the spirit it's given (as someone who would love to see you succeed) and for whatever it's worth (I'm not an expert on singing).
Suggestions for Song Selection
--------------------------
Search for The Happy Goodmans, The Rambos, The Dixie Echoes one at a time on the search bar on this forum (to the right of "Search this forum...") You'll find lots of results. Look for the ones that have the most replies and the most reviews. Those will give you a hint of which ones are the most popular, if you need some inspiration on what songs to record next.
Constructive feedback on your singing
--------------------------------
Like I said, I'm not a singing expert, and maybe a singing expert reading this can provide some professional feedback. But I can offer some advice as an amateur.
Overall, it's a really nice job. Your voice has a natural, pleasant sincere quality, and you clearly are emotionally connected to what you’re singing, which is so important for hymn and worship songs, especially the good old Southern Gospel.
I’d mainly work on supporting the ends of phrases a bit more, since a few lines taper off early, and on keeping held notes as steady as possible. Work on consistency of pitch on held notes: your intonation is generally spot-on, but some sustained notes seem to wander a bit. Also, a touch more projection and sharper diction could also help the song connect even better.
Also, I know you did this quickly, but continually work on your physical presence (posture, body language). You'd be surprised at how much this helps sound and delivery. Similarly, good audio equipment can make a big difference, so I'd look into a good quality microphone and recording software.
All that said, your foundation is excellent. You’ve definitely got a good foundation and the natural talent. Just keep working on the fundamentals, and keep us posted!
God bless,
Steve

Not a problem, Wyatt. FYI, I think you'd accidentally opened a new thread, so I merged it with your original post to keep everything in one place.
As long as we keep it to one thread, I'm happy to leave this up on this board called Hymn Lyrics - Search Requests for a little while, but at some point I'll need to move it to our other board called Hymn Discussions. I'll let you know when I do this so you can bookmark this thread and access it any time.
That other board is a bit hard to find now (I was keeping it "hidden" until I had more time to work on it, but if we get more people like you posting to it, I'll be thrilled to make it much more visible.
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Hello, read this and please respond [Southern Gospel singing feedback requested]
Could I post on a new thread so ppl can see my newest stuff, if not, I will respect your rules and terms, sorry If I sounded like a jerk there. I just don't want pp, to think that its a thread that has upteenmillion comments and just pass it by, if you could find something we could both like.
Thank you so much- Wyatt.
