Looking for the lyrics for.....Via Delarosa
Hello, Yesterday in church a visitor sang a beautiful song that I am sure I have heard before but it has been a long time. I believe it was called "Via Della Rosa" but i'm not sure and I am having no luck finding the lyrics on the internet. If anyone knows where/how I may find the lyrics or if by chance that isn't the title and you know what it is ~ I would be SO GRATEFUL for the help. Thank You! Jen

Sandy Patty recorded Via Delarosa. There is one verse in spanish.
the chorus goes
Down the Via Delarose, called the way of suffering, walked a man called the Messiah, Christ the King. Yet he chose to walk this road out of his love for you and me. Down the Via Delarosa called the way of suffering. I have the rest of the words at church on a accompaniment track, I'll try to remember to get them for you if no one else answers.

Down the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem that day
The soldiers tried to clear the narrow street
But the crowd pressed in to see
A Man condemned to die on Calvary
He was bleeding from a beating, there were stripes upon His back
And He wore a crown of thorns upon His head
And He bore with every step
The scorn of those who cried out for His death
Down the Via Dolorosa called the way of suffering
Like a lamb came the Messiah, Christ the King,
But He chose to walk that road out of
His love for you and me.
Down the Via Dolorosa, all the way to Calvary.
The blood that would cleanse the souls of all men
Made its way through the heart of Jerusalem.
Down the Via Dolorosa called the way of suffering
Like a lamb came the Messiah, Christ the King
But He chose to walk that road out of His love for you and me

As Carolla said, Sandi Patti recorded this many years ago. I personally like this recording:
Finest Moments
God bless!

I too heard this song during a Good Friday message more than 15 years ago, I didn't understand all the words (spanish) but my heart did!
The Sandi Patti version as far as I am concerned is the only version. It is like the heavens open up and a choir of Angels are singing. This song became our family anthem, my kids were young then, now they are 18 and 20, and they still are moved by the Via Della Rosa.
I remember sitting watching tv the following Easter and there on tv was the music video, there was Sandi walking the road of Calvary as she sang, I looked around everyone was gone (no cell phones then), no one to share it with, so I sat back enjoyed. A gift from the Lord.
