Post by SingerForGod » Tue Nov 18, 2008 4:00 am

I will post this with chords and then in next post will give the lyrics in the way I found them on another site where Johnny Cash sang them.

I AM A PILGRIM- The Byrds

G D G
D G G7
I am a pilgrim and a stranger
C C7 G
Travelling through this wearsome land
G G7 C C7
I've got a home in that yonder city, good Lord
G riff D G
And it's not not made by hand

I've got a mother, sister and a brother
Who have been this way before
I am determined to go and see them, good Lord
Over on that other shore

I going down to the river of Jordan
Just to bathe my wearsome soul
If I can just touch the hem of his garmet, good Lord
Then I know he'd take me home

REPEAT FIRST VERSE

riff: (on A string): 2 2 3 4 5

(from Sweethearts of the Rodeo, 1968)

"I Am a Pilgrim:

1. (think this might be the chorus)

I am a pilgrim and a stranger
Traveling through this wearisome land
I've got a home in that yonder city, good Lord
And it's not made by hand.

I got a mother, a sister, and a brother
Who have gone to this way before
And I am determined to go and see them, good Lord
Over on that other shore.

I am a pilgrim and a stranger
Traveling through this wearisome land
I've got a home in that yonder city, good Lord
And it's not made by hand.

Now I'm going down to that river Jordan
Just to bathe my weary soul
If I can touch but just the hem of His garment, good Lord
Than I know you'll take me home.

I am a pilgrim and a stranger
Traveling through this wearisome land
I've got a home in that yonder city, good Lord
And it's not made by hand.
