The song is "I don't regret a mile" Not sure who origianally recorded it. I first heard it as a child being sung by the Daughterly Quartet. Their version of the song had a reciation. I've heard others sing it but I like the Daughterly Quartets version best. I wish I could tell you the words to the reciation.
Here are the lyrics as I've heard them sang by other groups.
Hope this helps. Keith.
I DON'T REGRET A MILE,
I DON'T REGRET A MILE, I'VE TRAVELED FOR THE LORD.
I DON'T REGRET THE TIMES, I'VE TRUSTED IN HIS WORD.
I'VE SEEN THE YEARS GO BY, MANY DAYS WITHOUT A SONG.
BUT I DON'T REGRET A MILE, I'VE TRAVELED FOR THE LORD.
I'VE FOUGHT A FAITHFULL FIGHT, AND I HAVE KEPT THE FAITH
SURELY, UP IN HEAVEN, A HOME FOR ME AWAITS.
A PROMISE OF A MANSION, ON STREETS OF PURE GOLD.
KEEPS ME PRESSING ONWARD, NOT MANY MILES TO GO.
MANY MILES BEHIND ME, NOT MANY MILES TO GO.
I WALK THE STRAIGHT AND NARROW, LONG HAS BEEN THE ROAD.
THO SLOWER STEPS I NOW TAKE, I'LL SOON REACH MY GOAL.
MANY MILES BEHIND ME, NOT MANY MILES TO GO.
I've come to far to turn back.

I've come to far to turn back.
Howard Goodman of the Goodman Family wrote "I Don't Regret A Mile".
I've come to far to turn back.
I think there are 2 different songs combined here in the last posting of the words to the song. Howard Goodman wrote a song I Don't Regret A Mile, but he only sang the beginning verse and then there was he recited the rest. I know there was also a song titled Many Miles Behind Me, I have written my sister to have her send me the words and who sang it on a album she has.
