Lamb of God
lamb of God
You Take away
You Take away the sin
The sin, the sin of the world
Have mercy ahh
Have mercy ahh
Have mercy on us. X2

Lamb of God
lamb of God
You Take away
You Take away the sin
The sin, the sin of the world
Grant us peace
Grant us peace
Grant us Peace

We sing this after the "sign of peace" at my church..

Peace I give
My peace I leave
Peace for you
Peace for all

Lamb of God
You take away the sins of the world
Have mercy on us

Lamb of God
You take away the sins of the world
Have mercy on us

Lamb of God
You take away the sins of the world
Grant us....peace

I had just found a song on a site and it was exactly what I was looking for. I remember it from the 70's. The way I remember it was like this. "Peace I leave with you my friends, Shalom my peace in all you do , Peace I leave with you my friends , I give to you so you can give to others to." There are more verses to this song. If I can find it, you should be able to as well. Just keep it simple.

This song looks lovely! I would, however, question it's use as a replacement for the Lamb of God. The Lamb of God is a part of the mass, and cannot be replaced or re-worded. The words for the hymn are very beautiful (I haven't heard the tune) but should really be used at a different part of the mass. I can understand the intent behind using it after the sign of peace, but unfortunately I don't think it is actually the best idea because it is adding words to a specific part of the mass.
Keep singing though!

Peace, My Friends, words and music by Ray Repp. Originally (c) 1967, but it's been updated. You can find lyrics online, and many versions on YouTube. It IS a lovely piece. Shouldn't be too slowly sung.
