LYRICS FOR: "WHEN THEY SAW THE STAR"
the martins do not sing it... Reggie and Ladye Love Smith sing it along with Charlotte Ritchie
LYRICS FOR: "WHEN THEY SAW THE STAR"
The Martins did sing it. Here are the lyrics:
O'er mountains and valleys
It led them each night
As star of most radiant light
The wise men rejoiced
As they journeyed afar
To behold such a beautiful star
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
They rejoiced with
Exceeding great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
They rejoiced with
Exceeding great joy
Others saw the star
But they followed it not
To them it would come
And would pass
The wise men kept trusting
With all of their hearts
That the star would find
The baby at last
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
They rejoiced with
Exceeding great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
They rejoiced with
Exceeding great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
They rejoiced with
Exceeding great joy
Great joy
They rejoiced with
Exceeding great joy
God Bless!
O'er mountains and valleys
It led them each night
As star of most radiant light
The wise men rejoiced
As they journeyed afar
To behold such a beautiful star
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
They rejoiced with
Exceeding great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
They rejoiced with
Exceeding great joy
Others saw the star
But they followed it not
To them it would come
And would pass
The wise men kept trusting
With all of their hearts
That the star would find
The baby at last
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
They rejoiced with
Exceeding great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
They rejoiced with
Exceeding great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
When they saw the star
They rejoiced
When they saw the star
They rejoiced with great joy
They rejoiced with
Exceeding great joy
Great joy
They rejoiced with
Exceeding great joy
God Bless!

LYRICS FOR: "WHEN THEY SAW THE STAR"
I remember this was a song we played in orchestra too. The "One bright day, I saw in rich array" part was a march. Does anyone remember the name of that?
LYRICS FOR: "WHEN THEY SAW THE STAR"
The first lyrics version posted is the arrangement sung at the Disney Candlelight Concerts - a fantastic mashup of "Rejoice with Exceeding Great Joy," "We Three Kings" and the old French Carol, the March of the Kings ("One bright day," which I first learned as "Three great Kings came from the Orient.") A bit of the First Nowell thrown in too, I think. I've seen a PDF of the Candlelight edition online, but I'm afraid I don't know where to find the original "Rejoice"; I hope this helps clarify the lyrics question, though.
