He Laid Down His Golden Crown

Post by Sarah Peeler » Sat Jan 23, 2010 9:17 pm

His Golden Crown

Jesus stood before His Father, it was time to say goodbye
He had known from the beginning, he would have to give His life
He could have asked for mercy, He could've begged to stay
He could have asked the question, is there any other way

But He laid down, His golden crown
Knowing well the only reason was for me
The choice was His to make
He could have walked away
But He laid down, He laid down His golden crown

...what's the second verse? can't remember for the life of me.

Thanks!

He Laid Down His Golden Crown

The King of all creation now would leave His Home
To feely trade a golden crown for a bloody crown of thorns.
The angels watched in silence as He turned to walk away.
His first steps toward Calvary started on the day.

Thanks so much for posting the second verse, I have been having a very difficult time trying to determine what he was saying. Now it make perfect sense.
