I know that Jesus saved me....

Post by Frannie » Tue Jun 05, 2012 6:26 pm

Does anyone know this song? It has been on my mind for a couple of days now and I think I have this part of it right.......but I'm not absolutely sure.

I know that Jesus saved me,
...................................................(saved my soul)
The very moment He forgave me
.........................................................(made me whole)
He took away my heavy burden
and He gave me peace within.
Satan tried to make me doubt it
But surely I'm gonna shout it
I was there when it happened
And I guess I ought-ta know

Guess I should have asked my mother in law first......she had the song in a Gaither Book :)

Verse 1)
There are some people who say we cannot tell,
Whether we are saved or whether all is well;
They say we only can hope and trust it is so,
But I was there when it happenned and I guess I ought to know..

Chorus
Yes, I know when Jesus saved me,
..............................................(when He saved my soul)
The very moment He forgave me,
..........................................(cleansed and made me whole)
He took away my heavy burden
And He gave me peace within;
Satan can't make me doubt it,
It's real and I'm gonna shout it,
For I was there when it happened and I guess I ought to know.

Verse 2
Now I don't care who tells me salvation is not real
Tho the world may argue that we cannot feel
The heavy burden lifted and the vile sin go
But I was there when it happened and I guess I ought to know
