a prisoner to satan and blinded by sin,
with no hope that I'd ever be free..
But in my desperation, I called on the Lord,
and at an altar of prayer, I prayed through..
Then the chains fell away like the darkness
at dawn and He told me just what I must do...
He said, "Child, lay it down and leave it,
just lay it down and leave it..don't carry
that burden no more..
And the same hand that lifted..the burden of sin..
will lead me on to heaven's shore..
