B.B. McKinney

My late father's middle name is McKinney, after B.B. McKinney. My grandparents and he were friends at some point. I know all 30 or so of his hymns but don't know a lot about the man. At 48 years old I would like to know more about the man my dad was named after if anyone has any information.

The Web has a lot of great information on B.B. McKinney, a great Southern Baptist hymn writer. Believe it or not, he actually wrote 149 hymns over his lifetime. He was editor of the very famous Broadman hymnal.

Of course, most people know him by some of the great hymns he wrote. Some of my personal favorites:
