i've been looking for a song i use to hear growing up. i don't really know what the title is but if i remember correctly the chorus goes:
behold the Lamb of God was freely given
to take the sins of this old world all away
behold the Lamb of God came from Heaven
they're crucifying my savior today
i can remember hearing it on a southern gospel station, but i can't remember the exact title so it's been hard to do searches.
thank you so much for any help
GOD bless

Who's that man with the cross on His shoulder, falling down beneath the heavy load? Is there none to relieve Him of His burden, to help Him walk the long dusty road?
Is He tired? Is He bleeding? Is He crying? Struggling now to climb Calvary's hill. They are mocking His name and casting lots now. The Earth has darkened, the leaves no stand still.
They have nailed His body to that old cross now. Is that a soldier I see piercing His side? I hear Him asking, "Father, forgive them." This is God's son who the world crucified.
Chorus: Behold the Lamb of God, freely given, To take the sins of this old world all away. Behold the Lamb of God, sent from Heaven. They're crucifying my Saviour today.

The group I have sung with for years used to do this song but I don't know who originally recorded it. The lyrics are:
Who's that man with the cross on His shoulders
Falling down beneath the heavy load?
Is there none to relieve Him of His burden
To help Him walk the long dusty road?
Is He tired? Is He bleeding? Is He crying?
Struggling now to climb Calvary's hill.
They are mocking His name and casting lots now.
The Earth has darkened, the leaves now stand still.
And now they're nailing His precious body to that cross now.
Is that a soldier I see piercing His side?
I hear Him asking, "Father, please...please forgive them."
This is God's Son whom the world crucified.
Chorus:
Behold the Lamb of God, freely given
To take the sins of this old world all away
Behold the Lamb of God, sent from Heaven.
They're crucifying my Saviour today.
