My grandmother used to sing this song all the time when I was a child, and I would love to find the words to the whole song.. It talks about a young man leaving home and never finds time to go back and see his mother, and when 'at last I journey homeward, and as I climb the hill, I long to see my mother's face once more. But as I passed thru the gateway, my aching heart stood still, there's a wreath upon the little cabin door.
