Thanks so much for the lyrics of this powerful song. I woke up this morning with it on my mind. So thankful "HE" didn't throw me away.

Just an old rejected relic on the auction block
They decided to throw me away.
The auctioneer asked, "Who'll take her?"
The room grew quiet and still.
Til Jesus stepped forward, and He said, "I will".

If you had known me before I knew Him,
You'd understand why I love Him.
If you had known me before I knew Him,
You'd understand my love.

I hadn't much to offer, just heartaches and fear,
and a life that was filled with despair.
For my rags, He gave me riches,
For my fear, He traded peace,
From my old life, He gave me a blessed release.
If you had known me before I knew Him,
You'd understand why I love Him.
If you had known me before I knew Him,
You'd understand my love.
If you had known me before I knew Him,
You'd understand my love.

This song was written by Joan Ewing and initially recorded by her husband, the late Merrill Ewing of Lake Charles, Louisiana. It is called "If You had Known Me".
