Looking for "Hear O Lord the sound of my voice"

The soloist on "Sing Out My Soul" is my friend Christine Cardinez.

There was another album also done by Holy name Convent & Dixie Land Steelband called - "Wake Up My People".

This one is even more difficult to find than the "Sing Out My Soul" album.

I find it interesting that 'Guest' further up the blog put the words as they did. Here are the ones we sing (and have sung for as long as I can recall) in New Zealand, and they make so much sense to me and seem more positive than those that Guest quoted. I am looking for an MP3 of this if anyone knows any links.
Our words are as follows:

Love this song. My parents had the album as a child and I heard it in the market this weekend and was pulled towards it like crazy! I am hunting it down now.

it is definitely on on lime wire or i tunes. Amazon takes 1-2 months but the bigup radio seems to have it.......

not on lime wire......Sept 20th guest....that is not the version he is speaking off and that is not how it is played by the Goretti Group and Dixieland Players......This is a steel band version.....I grew up with this song in the caribbean...

O Gosh man. I never thought I would find this album. I too grew up hearing it in Barbados. I'm going home in a few weeks and decided to look up some stores in Barbados so I would know where to go to get it when I got there and instead ended up on the site. Thanks for all the info posted on this site, it's very good. Wuh loss I happy now.(smile). I am now looking for The Draytons Two and found out their album is no longer available. Would anyone know where I could get it used?

HALLELUJAHHHHHHH praise the Lord! My mother used to sing it and that's how I know it!!!!! I was looking for it a couple of years ago but didn't find nothing on the internet. And today I thought let me try it again, because almost everything is posted online nowadays and voila!

Thank you all for posting this! My grandmother used to play this album every Sunday, on St. Thomas, USVI when I was a child, and I loved to hear her sing it!!! I didn't know where to purchase the CD but I now I do! so Thank you all for posting this!!!
This song touches my soul like no other-and now I'm an adult, I know why my grandmother sang it, and played it as often as she could. When I need solitude with the Lord, I pray and sing this song--I just love it! Thanks! Jeanine

Like most persons here, I too grew up listening to this album right here in Jamaica. My late father, who passed away November 2, 2009, would play it every Sunday or whenever he got the chance on his old Philips stereo which us kids were banned from using! Of course, we played the album 'til we eventually wore out the stylus while he was at work. A so-called friend of mine stole it from my father's collection and sold it! I just had to buy it when I stumbled across it in the record store a few years ago. Played a few tracks prior to finding this site which brought back a flood of childhood memories...and a few tears as well.
