Lyrics to "Look Out Your Window" by Ray Repp
I remember singing this song when I was a teen. I have sung part of the words to my grandchildren and they love it. I would love to sing all of the song as a gift from Grandma. This is what I know:
Look out your window
See what you can see
Silence is broken
By opening your door
Look out your window
See if you can see
All the wonders of life
You've never seen before
Spend just a moment
to look out your window,
the glass is as clear
as you want it to be
Life dawns a newness
to all who are willing
to open their much more
than their eyes when they see
Look out your window
See what you can see
Silence is broken
By opening your door
Look out your window
See what you can see
Silence is broken
By opening your door
Look out your window
See if you can see
All the wonders of life
You've never seen before
Spend just a moment
to look out your window,
the glass is as clear
as you want it to be
Life dawns a newness
to all who are willing
to open their much more
than their eyes when they see
Look out your window
See what you can see
Silence is broken
By opening your door

2nd verse:
Morning brings laughter to people of sorrow
And sorrow brings laughter to people aware
Life has awakened in shades of new meaning
For those who are searching and bother to care
3rd verse
Blossoms of color bloom outside your window
Colors of black, white, yellow and red
Can you imagine a world without color
Yet sometimes we live as though most shades are dead.
Morning brings laughter to people of sorrow
And sorrow brings laughter to people aware
Life has awakened in shades of new meaning
For those who are searching and bother to care
3rd verse
Blossoms of color bloom outside your window
Colors of black, white, yellow and red
Can you imagine a world without color
Yet sometimes we live as though most shades are dead.

Thank you all so much I've remember singing this song in the second grade over 45 years ago and have been searching for these lyrics for years! I'm a little confused with the first guests post on the second verse, "to open their much more than their eyes when they see"??? Is that correct?

It sure would be nice if You would add the writer of the songs on these lyrics instead of just the artist. the Artist is who sang it, but doesn't tell who wrote it.
This applies to ALL SONGS.

Many of our members, gospelsinger46 for one often posts the author and other pertinent information.
We could sure use your help in providing these details which are oft times elusive.
Thanks for any additional info you can supply to the many songs and hymns posted here.

I have an old song sheet used by an old community in the early 1970's before the "copyright issue" hit all the small groups, none of the songs have attribution, just looked this one up. It has alternate wording. For my anti-oppression work I prefer the version previously printed here!
Chorus:
Look out your window see what you can see.
Silence is broken by opening your door,
Look out your window, see if you can see,
All the wonders of life, you've never seen before.
Spend Just a moment to look out your window,
The glass is as clear as you want it to be,
Light dawns a newness to all who are willing,
to open much more than their eyes when they see....
My friend brings laughter to people of sorrow,
And He will bring laughter to you if you look,
Life is awakened in shades of new meaning,
So open your door, He'll bring newness to you...
Blossoms of color bloom outside your window,
Colors of peace, love, and mercy are threw,
Jesus brings color, a newness within you,
So open your door, He'll bring newness to you...
Look out your window,He is looking in,
Silence is broken by opening your heart,
Look out your window, Jesus is looking in,
You'll find wonders of life, you've never found before.

I learned one verse as ;
Life dawns a newness to all who are willing
to open much more than their eyes when they see ...
and
Can you imagine a world with out color
for those who are blind yet with their eyes they can see
Life dawns a newness to all who are willing
to open much more than their eyes when they see ...
and
Can you imagine a world with out color
for those who are blind yet with their eyes they can see

I taught this beautiful hymn to my grade 2 class about 1970-71 give or take a tad before and after.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2015 3:05 am Thank you all so much I've remember singing this song in the second grade over 45 years ago and have been searching for these lyrics for years! Tonight I wanted to see if there were more verses and if I still had it right after all these years. You may not have been my student but you made me recall a item girl who fell absolutely in love with this piece. This special person has also taken me down memory lane. This hymn launched my liturgical music ministry. It is such a story too long for this space.
