Mid-80's song "Pillar of Fire"?

Anybody remember the author and (perhaps) original group who recorded this song? I first came across it back in the mid-80's in Albuquerque on KFLQ-FM radio. Occasionally the evening shift DJ would play that song for me--thank you DR!

The question I also have is this: what are the lyrics for the last verse? I know the last phrases go " . . . I gaze upon the mountain, where I can see the Promised Land" but for whatever reason, I can't decipher the first part. If anyone could help, I would be most grateful!
