Missing carol - Jesus was born in a stable
Missing carol - Jesus was born in a stable
Hi all. Anyone recognise this? I sang at a carol concert around 1978 in the UK. A sad sorrowful sound. Something like:
Jesus was born in a stable, there was no room at the inn. Can you imagine the sorrow? That was good enough for him.
Thanks, Louise

I can't find sheet music or lyrics for it anywhere, but I'm currently trying to transcribe from this version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O04ALcothkM
You're right, it's called 'Jesus Was Born In A Stable'

Here are lyrics. Corrections are appreciated :
Jesus was born in a stable, there was no room at the inn.
He had a stall for a cradle. That was good enough for him.
Cattle asleep in the corner. Joseph kept watch from within.
Can you imagine the sorrow that was good enough for him.
No kingly robes for His vesture. No royal hall for this one
But Mary fumbled her treasure for He was God’s dear son
Jesus was born in a stable, there was no room at the inn.
He had a stall for a cradle. That was good enough for him.
No kingly robes for His vesture. No royal hall for this one
But Mary fumbled her treasure for He was God’s dear son
Jesus was born in a stable, there was no room at the inn.
He had a stall for a cradle. That was good enough for him.
And that was good enough for Him

Do you know the lyrics of the song Frosty the Snowman (1950). It's quite good to me but I can't understand and know the correct lyrics of the song. Please help me.

Greetings Hank,
You are new to the site so you don't know that
each new topic needs it's own search request
otherwise it gets lost in the thread.
Although this website is dedicated to hymns of praise to
God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit
I'm taking it upon myself to create a separate topic for your request
in the hopes that anyone who is looking for these lyrics
will find them here on NameThatHymn.com
and discover these many hymns of worship to God and The Lord, Jesus Christ
who is the real reason we celebrate Christmas
for the lyrics, please go to

Re: Missing carol - Jesus was born in a stable
We are given the lyrics, below, but in the second verse (which is really the chorus) the word "fumbled" should be replaced by "cradled", I think. "And Mary cradled her treasure". Such a beautiful, simple and profound song, not just for children!

Thanks EDG for drawing my attention to this word I had trouble with.
Now that I listened to it a few more times, I'm thinking the word is fondled.
It makes way more sense. Eh?
I enjoyed listening to the entire song again.
It is haunting and reminiscent of a Fiddler on the Roof ballad
