Can anyone help me with these lyrics??? Tell me little flower, with your beechten eye

Hi everyone, my Grandma passed away this week and she spoke to me about the importance of the following lyrics as her mother used to sing them to her all through her childhood. As a family we are trying to determine where the song originated and are not having much luck. I have just found this site and am hoping that i can find anyone to help - so here are the lyrics -

"Tell me little flower, with your beechten eye,
what do you see yonder, neath the deep blue sky?
Are you always waiting for the lord above?
Tell me little flower, Do you see God's love?"

We have all been brought up in Christian faith but none of our family are aware of the song, so i would be very gratefull of any help anyone can give me.
